Affinity's Sensory Experience

Come To Your Senses! is a thoughtfully designed, welfare-first experience that allows dogs to engage with the natural world in ways that feel safe, natural and enriching to them. This is not a training session or a place to "perform" - it's an opportunity for your dog to explore, decompress, and process their environment at their own pace.

Come To Your Senses! offers a variety of carefully curated sensory stations that encourage natural canine behaviors such as sniffing, digging, chewing, tugging, watering, navigating obstacles, and exploring novel textures and scents. Dogs are always given choice and control over their participation, with no pressure to interact with anything they're not ready for.

This experience is especially beneficial for:

• Dogs who don't get to express natural behaviors every day

• Dogs who may feel overwhelmed with traditional training or group settings

• Shy, sensitive, or fearful dogs who need low-pressure opportunities for their learning 

• Dogs who benefit from decompression, confidence-building, or mental stimulation

Guardians are encouraged to observe and learn about their dog's body language, notice preferences, and learn how sensory input impacts their emotional state and improve welfare. This creates a deeper understanding of your dog as an individual and strengthens trust and communication between you.

Our approach prioritizes emotional safety, autonomy, and respect for behavioral diversity.  Every dog experiences the garden differently - and that's exactly the point. There is no "right" way to participate.
